Think-In at the Department of the Taoiseach (2002)
Dublin in the Knowledge Age – Creating the World’s Most
Intelligent City |
 |
This initiative, organised with Paddy Walley Associates,
arose from the DEP seminar of November 2001 on Dublin in the Global Economy.
It was held at the Department of the Taoiseach on 21st June 2002, and
gathered together key policy makers and practitioners from the public
sector, the corporate IT sector, educational and research interests, as
well as Dublin city and county authorities and local development bodies.
The event was opened by Ms Mary Hanafin T.D., Minister of State responsible
for the Information Society Commission, and was addressed by Prof. Luc
Soete (Maastricht University) and Mr Chris Horn (Iona Technologies). Lively
discussions at the Think-In clarified the key priorities for Dublin in
the Knowledge Age, leading among other initiatives to the development
of the Dublin Digital Inclusion Project.
